Thorn Custom Guitars SoCal Tele

Ron Thorn has built more than 800 custom instruments under the name Thorn Custom Guitars, and now builds exclusively for Fender Custom Shop. Thorn is among the first to assume the title Principal Master Builder — one of the highest honors at the Fender Custom Shop and in the guitar building community.  His Fender Custom Shop guitars sell in upwards to $8000 and more.  

This SoCal Tele was built in 2012 just before he started his career at Fender.  The rosewood neck is silky smooth. The neck mini humbucker produces some nice woody tones.  The three pickup combination sounds wonderful and offers a variety of glorious tones.  The gold finish is so thin you can see the wood grain of the ash body.  

This guitar is in very good condition with a small nick on the top edge as shown in the picture.  There is also a small mark near the headstock from a wall hanger.
