Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HSS, Aqua Flake - Electric Ed Modified

Electric Ed of Mad Hatter Guitar Products, and Black Mountain Guitar Co owner, modified this great guitar with an Electric Ed 13/8 Bridge Pickup and 6/3 Middle & Neck Single Coils pickups, and a Luminator 4/3 System.  In addition he had Black Mountain Guitar Co in house tech, Kyle do a complete fret level, re-crown, polish, and rolled fret ends.  

Electric Ed 13/8 Humbucker Pickups. These medium output humbuckers provide great tone and note clarity.  Whether you're a shredder, jazz player, country picker, classic rock, or whatever you play, you'll find these pickups provide a well balance of power and note clarity to meet your needs. 

The 13/8 Humbuckers feature an Alnico V Magnet, nickel base plate, and allen head pole pieces.  The poles go all the way through the bobbin and through the base plate.  We feel this provides the pickup with slightly more sustain.  

To match the allen head poles, the adjustment screws allen head socket screws.  It provides a nice bold look.  

Both the bridge and neck pickups have mismatched coils with the hotter coil active when the pickup is split to ground.  The bridge pickup splits to the inner coil and the neck to outer coil for more authentic single coil sounds.  

The bridge pickup measures at 13 ohms and the neck pickup at 8 ohms.  Thus the name 13/8.  

Electric Ed 6/3 Single Coil Pickups.   

The 6/3 Pickups are now available in both Alnico V and Alnico II Magnets!  

The Alnico V Rod Magnets deliver great punch and woody tones you expect from a high quality single coil pickup.  

The Alnico II Rod Magnets also deliver great punch and woody tones, but with more warmth.  These pickups are great for brighter guitars, or if you're looking for warmer single coil.  These have become Ed's personal favorite.  

The Rod Magnets sit at the pickup cover hight to avoid pick hangup and to match today's flatter fret board radiuses.  

Each pickup is hand wound, numbered, and signed personally by Ed.  

The bridge pickup measures at 6.8 ohms, 6.6 ohms for the middle, and the neck pickup at 6.3 ohms. 

The Luminator 4/3 System is based off our popular Terminator 4/3 System.  The 4/3 System brings the most out of your HSS equipped guitar.  This System is specifically designed for instruments with one humbucker, with coil splitting capabilities, and two single coil pickups utilizing a single volume control and a single tone control.

However, with the Luminator 4/3 System we not only have the same functions as the standard 4/3 System, but we can also change the value of the Goes to Eleven Volume Pot from 500k to 250k.   

With the Luminator Touch Capacitance Switch in standard mode (Blue) the Goes to Eleven Volume Pot is at 250k and the 5-Way Selector Switch will provide all the pickup selections you would expect.  

Now touch the Luminator Touch Capacitance Switch to engage Transformed mode (Red) the Goes to Eleven Volume Pot will now change to 500k and the 5-Way Selector Switch will have the follow pickup combinations:

1. Bridge pickup only, same as in standard mode but at 500k value on volume pot 
2. Bridge pickup split, for a thin bright tone
3. Bridge with Middle and Neck pickups in series, this position sounds similar to two humbucker pickups 
4. Bridge & Neck pickups in parallel, simular to the tele twang with more meat
5. Middle & Neck pickups in series, sounds similar to a neck position humbucker 

Having the pickups in Series provides a warmer tone similar to a humbucker.  This provides thicker fuller rhythm and lead tones to inspire your playing and take your playing to another level.  Having the Goes to Eleven Volume Pot change to 500k in Transformed mode will keep the single coils sounding great when they are in series.
