Gibson 1964 SG & Falcon Amp Collection

Gibson

$20,000.00

This is a beautiful example of a 1964 SG paired with a Gibson Falcon Amp bought at the same time.

In 1964 a 14 year old boy named Mike entered a music store with his father.  They emerged with a beautiful new Gibson SG and a matching Gibson Falcon Amp.  Mike would go on to with the "Jesters" and "R & The Raygons" and get some local press. Then, like many storied beginnings, life would happen.  College, career, marriage, kids, mortgage, etc... leaving his dreams of stardom to the back of the closet.  Now in his 70's, even with our encouragement to pick it back up, Mike has decided to let it go.

The guitar is in very good all original condition.  It plays and sounds amazing.  However, it is what we call a "Friday Guitar".  The neck pickup is soldered to the bridge pickup controls and the bridge pickup to the neck pickup controls.  It makes this guitar extremely rare and very special.

The amp is all original including its original foot switch and a microphone from the same period.  Unlike most vintage amps, we decided not to do anything to the amp.  It does have its original power cord and all original electrolytic capacitors.  We do not recommend plugging in without having a qualified technician evaluation.  Given the collectability of the guitar and amp together, we decided to leave as is and for its next owner to make the decision.

We are selling as a collection with all the pieces together including the guitar, amp, hang tags, product catalog, pictures, etc...  This a for the collector.  We will not separate any of the pieces from the collection.  Do not miss out on this one in a lifetime purchase!
